What to do when Viber blocks you for spam

After you have tried everything to unblock your Viber account and failed, what's left is to contact them directly. We will show you how to contact them and how to send an unblock request.

What to do when Viber blocks you for spam

Viber can block you for all sorts of reasons, most of them being that actions you did on the app were identified as spam, or you're simply carrying out activities which are not within Viber's Terms of use. In this How-to, we'll talk more about spam and how to send Viber an unblock request.

How to unblock Viber account

Tap this link to open a ticket “Request to unblock“.

Fill out the request form with the following personal data:

  • First name, Last name
  • Email address
  • Viber phone number
  • Country

Confirm (reCaptcha) that you’re not a robot and tap Send Email to send Viber a request to unblock form.

How to avoid being identified as a spammer

Viber will block your account only when your activities do not follow the Terms of use. Sometimes their system will suspect you’re a spammer and carry out a set of checks to confirm or dismiss the spam “accusation”, and sometimes another user will report you.

To avoid being identified or reported as spam, do not use your private Viber account to send the unsolicited and commercial messages, especially avoid sending mass messages to a vast number of users, or message users whom you haven’t spoken to before because those could be the ones to report your message as spam.

However, if you are running a business or an organization that does have to send a lot of messages to a lot of users, Viber recommends using Business Messages service, so learn more about it on their web.
