In this Daisy's How-to, we are going to show you how to change the default password that comes with the Wi-Fi network with the router.

How to change Wi-Fi password

Oftentimes the default password for our home router comes with a too long, impossible to remember password like 0CC23B48z and in the steps below we will show you how to change it.

Step 1

Network and Sharing Center

First, we have to make sure that we are connected to a router, wireless or wired, and then we need to find out the router address that we will access through your favorite Internet browser.

Make a right click in the taskbar and open Network and Sharing Center, as shown in the image.

Step 2

Select a Network connection

Select your Network connection.

For the purposes of this example, we are going to select “GLAVNI_eth”.

Step 3

Router address

Click “Details…” and you will find the address under “IPv4 Default Gateway”.

Our IP address is “192.168.0.1”.

Step 4

Router management web page

After you have found out your router address, memorize it, open your Internet browser and write it in (in our case it’s 192.168.0.1).

After you have successfully accessed your router, it’s highly likely you’ll have to write in your user name and password.

NOTE: you can often find user name and password written on the router, like on a sticker behind it

Step 5

Change Settings

Search for terms like WLAN, Wi-Fi, Wireless, Security and similar, and change the password settings of your Wi-Fi network.
